8-4-22 THOUGHTS
God’s promise of MESSIAH came through the throne of David. We see that in the passages below. From the beginning, God’s message was MESSIAH! It’s the FOCUS OF ETERNITY!
“How blessed are the people who know the joyful sound!”
1Kings 2:45 "But King Solomon shall be blessed, and the throne of David shall be established before the LORD forever."
Luke 1:31-33 "And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus. 32 "He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; 33 and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end."
Isa 9:6-7 For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. 7 There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this.
Jer 33:15 ‘In those days and at that time I will cause a righteous Branch of David to spring forth; and He shall execute justice and righteousness on the earth.
Ps 89:15-29 How blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! O LORD, they walk in the light of Your countenance. 16 In Your name they rejoice all the day, And by Your righteousness they are exalted. 17 For You are the glory of their strength, And by Your favor our horn is exalted. 18 For our shield belongs to the LORD, And our king to the Holy One of Israel. 19 Once You spoke in vision to Your godly ones, And said, "I have given help to one who is mighty; I have exalted one chosen from the people. 20 "I have found David My servant; With My holy oil I have anointed him, 21 With whom My hand will be established; My arm also will strengthen him. 22 "The enemy will not deceive him, Nor the son of wickedness afflict him. 23 "But I shall crush his adversaries before him, And strike those who hate him. 24 "My faithfulness and My lovingkindness will be with him, And in My name his horn will be exalted. 25 "I shall also set his hand on the sea And his right hand on the rivers. 26 "He will cry to Me, ‘You are my Father, My God, and the rock of my salvation.’ 27 "I also shall make him My firstborn, The highest of the kings of the earth. 28 "My lovingkindness I will keep for him forever, And My covenant shall be confirmed to him. 29 "So I will establish his descendants forever And his throne as the days of heaven.

My Prayer:
Thank you, O God, for the good news of Christ the Messiah. The victory is ours by Your grace and mercy and love. What can we return to You but ourselves? Help us and teach us to do just that! Denying personal ownership of the self, may we give ourselves to your service and Kingdom. Teach us denial, and submission, and discipline and the joy of your salvation. Help us to hear the joyful sound. In the name of Jesus the Christ, Amen.
